Mira

1. Who we are

Mira: Astrology Widgets (“Mira,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an iOS app operated by Aaryan Gusain. This Privacy Policy explains how Mira handles information when you use the app, its widgets, and this website.

Mira is designed to work offline first. Most information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to sign in, use optional sync, make a purchase, contact support, or use a feature that relies on a service provider.

2. Information we handle

Information you provide

  • Account and contact information, such as your name and email address when you sign in, create an account, provide a contact email, or contact support.
  • Astrology profile information, such as birth date, birth time, birth place, selected current location, coordinates, and time zone when you choose to provide them.
  • App content and preferences, including saved notes, collections, followed topics, themes, reminders, learning progress, check-in statistics, onboarding choices, and personalization settings.

Information generated when you use Mira

  • App interaction and diagnostic information, such as screens viewed, buttons used, feature outcomes, app version, device type, errors, and performance information.
  • Purchase and subscription information, such as product, entitlement, trial, renewal, and restore status. We do not receive your full payment card details.
  • Identifiers used for app operation, analytics, subscriptions, and advertising measurement, such as an app install ID, Firebase user ID, RevenueCat app user ID, AppsFlyer ID, device or vendor identifiers, and advertising identifiers where permitted.
  • Attribution information, such as the campaign, ad, media source, referral link, and conversion events that led to an install or subscription.

3. How information is collected

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you enter it or contact us
  • from the app and your device as you use Mira
  • from Apple and our service providers when they report sign-in, subscription, analytics, attribution, or technical events

Mira does not request your device’s live GPS location. When you choose a place for an astrology profile, the place name and its coordinates may be stored as part of that profile.

4. How we use information

  • provide the app, widgets, chart calculations, and content
  • save your settings and personalize your experience
  • authenticate accounts and provide optional device sync
  • schedule and manage reminders you enable
  • process purchases and determine premium access
  • understand feature use, diagnose errors, and improve Mira
  • measure whether our advertising leads to installs, trials, or subscriptions
  • prevent abuse, protect the service, and comply with law
  • respond to support and privacy requests

5. Local storage and optional sync

Mira stores app information on your device first. You can use Mira as a guest without creating an account.

If you sign in, eligible information may sync to Firebase Firestore, including your display name, contact email, saved content, followed topics, theme choices, astrology profile, learning progress, check-in statistics, onboarding preferences, and reminder settings.

Widget configurations, notification scheduling identifiers, and certain operational state stay on your device and are not synced to Firestore.

6. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell personal information for money. We disclose information to providers that help us run and understand Mira:

  • Apple for App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, subscriptions, notifications, device permissions, and platform services.
  • Google Firebase for authentication, app integrity checks, and optional cloud sync.
  • RevenueCat for purchases, subscription entitlements, and subscription lifecycle analytics.
  • PostHog for product analytics and error or funnel measurement.
  • AppsFlyer for install, campaign, deep-link, and advertising attribution.
  • Meta for advertising attribution and conversion measurement.
  • OpenRouter and Google for the Ask Mira feature described in section 7.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We require providers that process information for us to protect it consistently with applicable law. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business reorganization.

7. Ask Mira and automated processing

Ask Mira answers questions about your chart. Local answers are written in advance, assembled on your device, and are unlimited. They do not leave your device. If the local answer system does not cover an open-ended question, the app may send a limited cloud request to an AI model.

A cloud request may include the question you typed, the last two turns of that conversation, calculated chart positions, and up to three excerpts from Mira's written content selected for that question. Your birth date, birth time, and birth place are not passed on with a cloud request. Only the calculated result is, such as which sign a planet is in and which house it falls in. Your name, email address, journal entries, saved people, liked notes, and current location are not passed on. The app installation identifier used to check your subscription and count your daily cloud answers reaches our server only, and is not passed on to the AI model. Cloud answers are limited to 15 per day; local answers do not use that allowance.

The request is handled by OpenRouter, which routes it to Google. We ask for these requests to be excluded from model training, and we do not permit routing to a provider that would retain them for that purpose.

Answers are checked automatically before you see them. An answer that contradicts your chart, or that breaks our content rules, is rejected rather than shown. We do not use these questions to make decisions about you, and no answer is medical, legal, or financial advice. Safety-sensitive questions, including questions about self-harm, medical, legal, and financial matters, are recognised on your device and answered with a fixed message pointing to real help; those questions are never sent anywhere.

8. Connecting with a partner

Mira has an optional partner feature. If you and one other person both choose to connect, each of you shares a copy of a small set of birth details with the other, so compatibility can be calculated from two real charts rather than one guessed one.

Connecting is two-sided. One of you generates a single-use code that expires after 24 hours; the other enters it and then sees an itemised list of exactly what would be shared before agreeing to anything. Nothing is shared until both sides have agreed. Codes contain no personal information and carry no message.

Only these fields are shared:

  • Your first name
  • Your birth date
  • Your birth time, or the fact that you have not set one
  • Your birth place

Your journal, saved people, liked notes, email address and current location are never shared through this feature.

Either person can disconnect at any time, on their own, without the other person’s agreement and without needing an active subscription. Disconnecting removes both copies in a single step, and clears any widget showing the connection. The other person is not notified when you disconnect. This is deliberate: a notification at that moment can put someone leaving a relationship at risk, so Mira does not send one.

Deleting your account revokes every connection first, so no copy of your birth details is left behind for anyone you were connected with.

9. Tracking and your choices

On iOS, Mira asks for permission before enabling tracking that requires Apple’s App Tracking Transparency authorization. If you allow tracking, device or advertising identifiers may be used with AppsFlyer, Meta, and RevenueCat to measure advertising performance. If you decline, Mira keeps advertiser tracking disabled and may use privacy-preserving attribution methods made available by Apple.

You can change tracking permission in iOS Settings. You can also choose whether to sign in, enable notifications, grant Photos access, or provide optional profile information.

10. Retention and deletion

Local information remains on your device until you delete it, use Mira’s delete-data controls, or remove the app. If you are signed in, synced account information remains until you delete your account through Mira, ask us to delete it, or it is no longer needed for the purposes described here.

Mira’s in-app account deletion flow deletes synced app data, removes the Firebase Authentication account after required reauthentication, and clears local app data. Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase records as required for billing, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, or legal obligations. Analytics and attribution providers retain information according to their settings and policies.

11. Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, they use legal safeguards for international transfers.

12. Children’s privacy

Mira is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an explanation of how your information is used. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or withdraw consent.

Use Mira’s in-app controls where available or email us. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

14. This website

This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies set by us. Our hosting provider may process basic server logs, including IP address and request details, to deliver and secure the site.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Mira changes. We will update the effective date above and provide any additional notice required by law.
